No DPA Calendar Required for June
Grads, if you are logging your DPA minutes either online, or using the paper calendars, you don't need to complete a June calendar. If you have submitted evidence of DPA for October - May, then you are done! Those of you enrolled in a PE class, or Dance class, (not including PE leadership), as long as you are attending and passing your class, then you will receive credit for DPA.
Many of you have completed all of your Graduation Transitions requirements. Congrats to you! Some of you still have one, or a few, things to finish. Check with me, either in person, or via email, to see what you still need to complete.

Exit Interviews on Thursday
Grade 12s... you have your Exit Interview this Thursday. All appointment times are posted outside the Career Centre and in the foyer outside the office, if you have lost your appointment slip. Remember to dress for a professional interview, and come prepared to answer questions about your high school experience and your future plans. You can bring an artifact or two if you like, but that is not mandatory. If you feel confident that you can speak for about 10 minutes about your goals and accomplishments, you don't need to bring anything with you. Please see Ms. Barsky if you have any questions or if you need any help preparing. Good luck to all of you!

Transition Plan and Resume
Grade 12s, this is just a reminder that your Transition Plan and updated resume are due at the end of February. You can use your Planning 10 Career Research Project, and just update the budget and resume so the information is current, or, if you don't have a copy of your Planning 10 project, you will need to pick up a blank booklet from the Career Centre, or print one from the blog here. You need your parents to sign the cover page, and then you can submit the finished plan to the Career Centre. Please let me know if you have any questions.

Term 2 DPA Online Logs
Grade 12s, most of you have completed your Healthy Living Plan, which was your Term One assignment for Graduation Transitions. Thank you! To those of you who have not yet completed this assignment, it is time to do so. See me in the Career Centre, or my classroom, if you have any questions about what you need to do for this.
Also, if you are logging your Daily Physical Activity (DPA) minutes online, your Term One log has been approved, and you now need to open up a Term Two log. Just set it up the same way you set up your Term One log, and continue counting your minutes! If you are tracking your minutes on a paper calendar, then you should be part way through your December calendar. There are copies in the Career Centre, on the school website, or here on this blog, if you need one.
Finally, your Term Two Graduation Transitions assignments are to complete your 30 Hours of Work Experience, and to complete your Transition Plan. If you still have your Planning 10 Career project saved on your computer, you can use that, with an update of the budget and your resume. If you can't find a copy of your project, then you will need to pick up a Transition Plan booklet from the Career Centre (or get one off the website, or here) and complete it. Remember to attach a current resume.
See me if you need help figuring out a work experience placement. Enjoy your Winter Break!

Healthy Living Plan due November 27th
Grade 12s... your Healthy Living Plan is due by November 27th. For many of you, completing this assignment will be quite simple. You just need to come to the Career Centre, pick up your Active Health 10 Project from your Graduation Transitions folder, read it over, and complete three questions on the cover sheet you can pick up from Ms. Arbia. If you do not have your Active Health 10 project, then you need to complete the booklet available on this blog, on the school website, or in the Career Centre. Many of you have already completed this assignment... good work! Please let me know if you have any questions about this assignment, or any other aspect of Graduation Transitions.

October DPA Calendars now due!
October DPA calendars (online or paper) are due tomorrow, October 31st. You can drop off your completed paper calendar to the Career Centre (put in the Student Drop-off Box) and pick up your November calendar at the same time. I will check the online logs to ensure that you have started one there, if that's the medium you have chosen to use. If you have not yet started a DPA log, you need to do so now! If you are not sure how to do this, please see me in the Career Centre or room 208, or email me at Jenifer.Barsky@sd41.bc.ca.
